About this 3D model
After printing the original Makerbot Botmobile and having trouble finding the right motor, gear and battery combo I decided to redesign the drive train and some other components in order to make it easier for everyone to get a functional Botmobile up and running. Video of the brush version of the car in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22fwVmX2GA8 Full credit for the original design goes to the guys from Makerbot Changes & Upgrades for the 2013 Version: - Drivetrain re-designed for the use with standard, of the shelf 280 brush as well as brushless motors - Drive gears modified to be fully printable and support the stronger motors - Body changed to accommodate 2S LiPo Packs - Additional mounting points added to the body to make the chassis more rigid and prevent the 2 body parts and the interior from separating - Steering updated to allow for better control and tighter turns - Receiver slot enlarged and additional RX brackets provided to allow installation of a larger variety of receivers. - Updated assembly manual with full parts and source list All parts are tested and print fine on a Replicator 2X (ABS) using Makerware.
