You can fold everything up and it will fit nicely into a bag. With the controls on the handles, you don't have to move your hands away from the handles for the most common tasks. This you are faster to react and the camera stays steady in the beginning and end of a shot as your hands are on the handles at these times and don't move to/from the camera.
