About this 3D model
The ‘seven sisters’ system of caves in the flank of the Arisa Mons volcano provide an ideal dwelling environment which is also rife for exploration and experimentation. They provide protection from micrometeoroids, solar radiation and flares as well as high energy particles. They also offer more stable thermic conditions than the surface of the planet does, being cooler during the day and warmer at night. Therefore, there is no need to dig underground, which would have been the only other feasible alternative in order to support human life on the planet as it exists now. The telescopic nature of the architectural modules maximize the printing area by cubic unit and thus is highly effective in terms of production. The multipurpose units can be easily connected to one another.
