Concept This is a modular mars base that is composed of hexagonal shaped structures. The purpose of having a modular design is to allow the base to expand with a growing population. Each module also has its own foundation that is underground and is the heaviest part of the module. This provides structural stability against extreme weathers in the mars environment as well as a flat and level floor for the inhabitants. Most of the modules also consists of windows to allow for natural lighting and for the structures that require larger amounts of electricity such as the lab/research module and also the common room/living room that connects to the bedroom models have solar panels that provide sustainable energy.
