About this 3D model
We are ready to present you the utilitarian Mars base model. The baseâs modules construction method is 3D printing (building material is concrete and a glass ). The facility shape is sphere, made of transparent materials. At the beginning staff accommodation modules will be built. After that the construction of laboratories and facilities for scientific researches of atmosphere creation possibility is planned. 3D printer can be built by means of androids. 3D printer print head will be located on a large rolling support. Printer frame will move along the rails. When certain block construction will be finished, these rails will be used as transport routes of workers and freight, communication lines between units of Mars base. Also, in our project the possibility of replacement of the print head by different mechanisms (drilling rigs, cranes, graders and buckets for soil testing) is provided. On the top of 3D printer case solar panels are installed. When the tasks for 3D printing will be done, the printer will be able to work as a mobile shed with solar panels. At the beginning electricity generated by these panels will be used for the printer power supply, and in the sequel it can be used for partial power supply of Mars base. This project provides solution of Mars base construction problems. The optimal variants of 3D-printer capabilities application are proposed and the printer power supply problem is solved.
