About this 3D model

Continuing to test the capabilities of this MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner. I decided to just scan something that should be incredibly simple. Something like the calibration tool that ships with the scanner. Another Fail. This is the result of a multi-scan. Not sure how it didn't see through the sides. I have the scanner placed more than the recommended 12 inches away from a wall. It's actually pointing toward the wall so nothing will disturb the scanner by passing in front of it.
