About this 3D model

I had the idea to make this model from looking at rocket models and books about the history of space exploration and reading news articles about the company SpaceX, and its historic Falcon 9 and soon to launch Falcon Heavy rockets. I found these to fascinating and inspiring both in concept and in form. The colorful design and overall shaping are meant to be reminiscent of the idealisations of the forties and fifties. These are what people thought rockets would look like, with curves and oversized fins, and I tried to replicate that style in my model. The base was meant to be simply a stand for it, something pretty to hold it up but it became much more when I included the exhaust to look like it was taking off. I believe this is fantastic mascot for a company on the rise. Rockets are the embodiment of the technologies and techniques created by those long before it, and having humanity, those minds here and gone, great and miniscule, to come together to further the advancement of humanity. This impact is felt both on our journey to the final frontier and in our homes. StratoMaker producing 3D printers for public use allows more people to create, to perfect, and to develop techniques all within the sphere of their daily lives. It allows them the chance to be among those who make humanity great, on the endless journey we call life, and existence. This rocket mascot embodies of of these ideals and connects StratoMaker to both the past and to the future.
