About this 3D model

Plaster cast of the tympanum, in stone, from the church at Shobdon (Herefordshire). Shobdon Church was demolished in the 18th century and its two doorways with their tympana and the chancel arch were re-erected in Shobdon Park as a folly and are now decayed from weathering. The plaster cast, made in the 1850s for the Crystal Palace, was slightly worked-up by the caster. A Trmpanum is a semi-circular or triangular decorative wall surface over an entrance, door or window, bounded by a lintel and arch.
