About this 3D model

This gaunt image of Death stood at the center of the cemetery of the Innocents. On his shield, a quatrain recalls: " He is alive ever so full of art.Not of strength to strengthI do my dart strikeTo yawn to their foodTo Pray to God for trespasses " At the closure of the cemetery, in 1786, the skeleton was brought to Saint- Gervais, then Notre Dame, where the arm was recreated by the sculptor Deseine, then placed in the Museum of French Monuments. It is now on permanent display at The Louvre, with some casts and copies found across France. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
