About this 3D model

Executed in 1820 and presented by Chantrey to Scott in 1828, the original bust is still at Abbotsford, Scott's Borders home. This replica, which was probably executed by Chantrey's assistants, was displayed in the London townhouse of the Prime Minister Sir Robert Peel in 1844. The Chantrey bust became the definitive sculptural likeness of 'the Wizard of the North' and was used by the Scottish sculptor John Steell when sculpting the statue for Edinburgh's Scott Monument. This object is part of "Scan The World".
