The Terrain Zone Marking for games compatible with Warhammer 40,000 11th Edition is a modular 3D-printable system designed to clearly define terrain areas, ruins, buildings, barricades, and other important battlefield zones. As the new 2026 edition places much stronger focus on terrain interaction and area control rather than traditional mission markers, having clearly marked terrain footprints has become more important than ever for objective control, smoother gameplay, and fewer arguments about line of sight, cover, and engagement ranges. This printable frame system is specifically designed to outline the exact playable area of terrain pieces without covering or distracting from the appearance of your gaming mat. Unlike bulky MDF bases or thick acrylic or neoprene alternatives, the low-profile frame of just 1mm keeps the battlefield clean, immersive, and easy to play on. Miniatures can be moved smoothly along the edges without catching on raised surfaces, making it especially suitable for competitive games and tournament environments where fast setup, consistent layouts, and clear terrain rules are essential. The set includes 2 different variants of the footprint design: Smooth surface version Warning stripe version for multi-color printing perfect for yellow/black hazard-style markings (colors need to be set in your slicer) Depending on your printer bed size there are 2 different variants: Full-size print versions for minimal bed sizes 292 x 203 mm Connector / snap-fit versions for minimal bed sizes 180 x 180mm The clearly defined outer edge of 10mm makes it easy during gameplay to determine whether a unit is inside a terrain zone, benefits from cover, controls an area, or interacts with mission-relevant terrain features. This becomes especially useful in 11th Edition gameplay, where terrain layouts, mission structures, and objective mechanics are more tightly connected and many recommended tournament setups rely on standardized terrain sizes and battlefield zones.
