About this 3D model

This is a beautiful scan of a Bronze Age spearhead found at Arreton Down on the Isle of Wight. The original scan was posted at: https://sketchfab.com/models/3788092801584240a8a44d1a1e7136c5 by http://micropasts.org/ I printed it on edge with lots of support to maximize the detail on both sides of the model. The finish is ModernMasters bronze and copper paints with SculptNouveau patina. Micropasts' crowd source program allows anyone to participate in archeology by helping out with their scanning and documentation process. The work is more Mechanical Turk than Indiana Jones, but it is a opportunity to help out a good cause, with no poisonous snakes.
