Description Mechaniak is the heart, the roar of engines, and the stinking smoke of the Iron Horde, because without mechanics there would be no Horde at all, and any proper lad with a rusty axe would gladly tell ya the same. These insane gitz know exactly what needs bolting where, where ta smash somethin’ with a wrench to make it work again, where ta shove more power so it shoots even louder, and what extra bit of scrap needs welding on top so the whole heap does not fall apart in the middle of a fight. But among all Mekhaniaks, the ship cannoneers are considered the craziest of the lot, because only they truly understand the sacred art of BIG GUNZ. They know how ta make ‘em louder, deadlier, and more explody, how ta load a shell so massive that the blast wipes out not just the enemy, but preferably half the neighborhood too. To ordinary folk their workshops look like junkyards after reactor meltdowns, but to orks they are sacred places where the finest shootaz, rockets, and ship-kannons are born. On board the space hulks, the Mechaniak is responsible for everythin’ that should drive, fly, shoot, or at least smoke in a threatening way. He keeps discipline among the endless swarms of gobbos under his command. The little runts spend all day scrubbin’ decks, carryin’ shells, tightenin’ bolts, and gettin’ kicked for not workin’ fast enough. Sometimes they even scrub decks that ain’t there anymore, because proper order on an ork ship matters more than common sense. A true Mechaniak never fully knows what exactly he is building, but that does not matter. The important thing is that it screams, shakes violently, spits fire, and works long enough to properly wreck the enemy. And if something explodes in the process, then everythin’ probably worked exactly as intended.
