St Paul of Tarsus was a 1st-century Hellenized Pharisee Jew with Roman citizenship, and the author of many letters addressed to various groups of 1st-century Christians. They comprise most of the New Testament, and as such have been (and are still) the highest influential texts in the history of Christianity and Christian theology.
