To expand his collection of sculptures the Earl of Arundel employed agents throughout Europe to seek out and buy antiquities. Art dealers and antiquarians were stationed in Italy, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece and Turkey and shipped their finds and purchases back to London.
