About this 3D model
This bas-relief used to be on a funeral monument. As many Christian pieces, it presents the encounter between Saints that have not lived at the same period. It represents Mary, mother of Jesus, with Catherine of Alexandria, a Christian saint and virgin, who was martyred in the early 4th century at the hands of the pagan emperor Maxentius. Next to them there are Saint George, a Roman soldier of Greek origin and officer in the Guard of Roman emperor Diocletian, who was sentenced to death for failing to recant his Christian faith, and Saint Victor who was Pope (Victor I) from 189 to 199.
