About this 3D model

Rare were the people who actually saw dolphins in the 19th century: that is probably why they had this particular representation, but also exerted a fascination on the people because of that rarity. As it may be observed on this sculpture, the depiction of these marine animals was almost fantastical, resembling creatures from myths or tales.
