About this 3D model

This funeral relief was made for and in the image of Gaston of Foix, the Duke of Nemours. He died in battle in 1512 – that may be why he is represented dressed for battle with his armor and sord. Such funeral scultpures became a custom in the Renaissance under Etruscan and Roman influence, as the artists took inspiration in the works they discovered.
