The Longma is a legendary spirit animal from ancient folklore—a fabled horse with the powerful characteristics of a dragon, symbolizing great intellect, nobility, and raw vital energy. To celebrate 2026, the Year of the Horse, I am releasing this intricate sculpt designed to bring that mythical momentum directly to your build plate. Staying true to the less is more philosophy, this model is the definition of Simple but Powerful. While the complex articulation and dynamic wings require some supports to print beautifully, the design is optimized to be a fast, satisfying, and incredibly efficient sprint for your printer. Key Features: Print-in-Place Joints: The articulated segments of the body are designed to print in place. Once the supports are cleared, the model is ready to flex. Smart Support Design: Engineered to work perfectly with modern tree/organic supports. They snap off cleanly without destroying your workflow or requiring endless post-processing. Fast & Economical Sprint: Designed for maximum impact with minimum material. Clocking in at just over an hour and using only ~16g of filament, it's a perfect project that respects your time and budget. Community Driven (V1): This is the first edition of the sculpt. Please print, test the flexibility, and leave your feedback in the comments! Your input will directly shape the upgrades for Version 2. Recommended Print Settings: Layer Height: 0.16mm - 0.2mm (0.16mm recommended for smoother curves on the dragon head and wings). Walls/Perimeters: 3 Walls (Crucial for durable joint strength on articulate models). Infill: 15% - 20% (Gyroid or cubic works best). Supports: YES. We highly recommend using Tree/Organic supports (set to "build plate only" if your slicer allows). They use less filament, print faster, and are much easier to peel away from the intricate details of the wings and belly. Adhesion: A clean bed is paramount for small footprint articulation joints. A brim is recommended to keep the small tree supports firmly planted. NEWS Upgrades: if you can please print it and tell me that you think of it!
