XL & "Not So XL" Highland Cow Assembly Guide Welcome to the Highland Cow build! While the XL and Not So XL versions are identical in design, their connectors have been pre-scaled to match their respective sizes and standard build plates. General Tips & Scaling Dry Fit First: A dry build is highly recommended before applying glue. Some parts will not hold together without adhesive, but a dry fit ensures you know where everything goes.Orientation: "Left" and "Right" references are from the cow’s perspective, not yours looking at it.Scaling: You can scale the model up or down. If scaling smaller, you may need to reduce the connector sizes by an additional 1–2%.Filament Choice: For outdoor display, use PETG. For very hot climates, ASA or ABS is recommended.Print & Tolerance Settings Supports: Required for certain parts (and already enabled in the .3mf file). Set the Top Z distance to 0.275 mm for easy removal. Ensure all support material is completely cleared from connector holes.Tolerances: Connector fit varies by printer, calibration, and filament type. The files are tuned to a "happy medium." If a connector feels too tight (especially in supported areas), scale that specific connector down by 1–2%.Connectors Used: The model utilizes two types of connectors: Long and Short.Filament Colors Used in This Preview Bambu Lab: Basic White, Black, Brown, Beige, and Matte Bone White.Sunlu: Chocolate Brown (used for the XL version's body). Step-by-Step Assembly Step 1: The Main Body & Legs Connect the Body: Join the two main body pieces together using 4 Long connectors.Assemble the Legs: Identify the Front/Back and Left/Right orientation for the legs and feet (all parts are named).Attach the Feet: Insert a Long connector into a foot, slide the corresponding leg over it, and then insert the entire assembly into the underside of the body. Repeat for all 4 legs until the cow is standing.Step 2: The Neck & Head Base Insert 3 Long connectors into the top of the front body section.Slide the neck fur piece over these connectors.Step 3: Eyes, Nose, & Head Placement Assemble the Eyes: It is easiest to build the eyes completely before inserting them into the head. Layer the pieces in this order: Outer Black → White → Chosen Eye Color → Inner Black → White Reflection Piece. Once assembled, push them into the head.Attach the Nose: Insert a Short connector into the nose, then press it into the front of the face.Mount the Head: Slide the completed head down onto the 3 connectors protruding from the neck fur.Step 4: Final Details (Ears, Horns, & Tail) Ears: Insert a Short connector into each ear, then attach them to the sides of the head.Horns: The two horns do not use connectors. Position them into the head and rotate them to your preferred angle before gluing.Tail: Insert a Short connector into the tail, then attach it to the rear of the cow. Congratulations! Your Highland Cow is officially assembled!
