In about 850 AD, with the arrival of the Itzas, the development of a new architectural style began in Chichen Itza, which combined elements and incorporated the representation of warriors with clothing and weapons typical of central Mexico, associated with eagles and jaguars. The figure carved on this jamb is dressed as a warrior with the effigy of a jaguar.
