About this 3D model
This is a cap to go over the bolts on a toilet. I noticed one of mine was missing, and I wanted a cap that I could install without unbolting the toilet, and that would stay in place. I designed this to thread on to the top of the 1/4 inch closet bolt holding the toilet down. This may not work for you if your bolts have been cut down too close to the nut. Although 1/4 inch is the most common bolt size from what I've read, there are other sizes. I have included the f3d file so that you can modify it if necessary. It's also fully parameterized, so you should be able to easily change other things such as height, width, etc. Nov 1 2025 : I also added support for Makerworld's Customizer I did find that when I installed it, I had to force the cap down while turning it, although I seemed to have to do that more on one side of the toilet than the other. I suspect this is partly because the bolts were not cut very cleanly. The important thing is, both caps seemed pretty solid once I got them threaded down all the way. Thread them on so they're fully seated and snug, but don't overtighten. They aren't too hard to strip. If this design is useful to you, consider a tip or post a make!
