About this 3D model

I have designed this trophy for the 3D Printing Industry Awards based on 3 key ideas: - First, I designed a "3D" object which shows a "3" when looked from one side and a "D" when looked from another side. I had already played with this idea for some time now but I was looking at an opportunity to use it! - Then, I started to play with the Protolabs logo. So instead of a cube or a cylinder, I decided to go with a truncated octoahedron as a stand with eight hexagon and 6 squares. - Finally, I continued to play with the hexagon idea and the protolabs logo, and I added a few nice features: a network of small tubes, a double lattice with hexagons, and multiple cavities into the stand.
