About this 3D model

The idea behind this design was creating something that can geometrically position the Protolabs logo, so I modelled around its hexagonal shape. From this i created the crystal shape, and created 1mm lattice/voronoi shapes around the chamfers for the crystal. The internal channels are designed to create the illusion of a cube within the shape, cutting off at the middle to not restrict the text. There are also tiny stars around the award which I used for my micro features. The bottom of the crystal actually reminds me of an extruder head, which I think is a nice touch.
