About this 3D model

This trophy was designed for the 2018 3D Printing Industry Awards. The goal of the design was to show how 3D printing allows for a common industrial part - in this case a planetary gear set - to be transformed into a freeform work of art. The trophy contains a hollow interior and is designed for SLA printing using a clear material. The large flat slanted face can be customized with embossed or engraved text such as the 3DPI logo, award title, or awardee name.
