About this 3D model

This is a modern copy of the original marble relief that is a part of the Capella del Voto in Siena Cathedral, Italy. The scene depicted shows the Virgin Mary, who was conceived without sin and gave birth to Christ, and therefore could not have been corrupted by death. The risen Christ has come to gather up his mother’s soul in his arms to take her to heaven.
