This marble sculpture shows Psyche being comforted by Pan, the god of the wild, shepherds and nature. Psyche is despairing because she has lost the love of Eros, and is considering giving up on life. She is shown here with wings, as the half-man half-goat faun is talking her out of the sorrow.
