Aeneas (possibly derived from Greek αἰνή meaning "praised") was a Trojan hero in Greco-Roman mythology. This portrait is a Roman copy after a bronze statue from 12 BC, erected by the Emperor Augustus on Aeneas's grave in Lavinium, Italy.
