About this 3D model
Update: 2024-01-09: v2 of the OpenSCAD file is released now. As requested, the font size can now be modified. Attention: When Chosing the font size, keep the printer accuracy in mind. A font size too small will lead to bad text that might be unreadable. I used the Filament Book from 3D Printy until I reached a stupid amount of cards and wasn't really sure how to sort them properly. I stumbled upon the “Box and Filament Samples” by Zapador . I liked the design and the wall-mounted idea. The cards are nice but lacked some great features from 3D Printy that I grew accustomed to. Mainly the “Star” that allows you to have a favorite-icon to quickly find your main Filaments. Additionally, I wanted the temperature range of the Filament on the card so I don't have to dig for the information on the side of the spool when it's still packaged or somewhere not reachable. So I modified the files to properly reflect these changes. On the Bambulab-Reddit I found numerous questions for the inlay-cards and why they have banding when printed together so I split the inlay-card from the main openscad-file in order to print them individually or add both of them to the same buildplate if wanted. On top of that I saw that the original inlay-card had some markings on it. I assume that it was to show sidewall-behavior like indents and corners. I added an embossed text-sample to it to show details better. ==== Changes in detail: Made the OpenSCAD from Zapador more customizable & cleaned up the Customizer. Removed the Inlay from the main swatch so it won't produce banding-issues when using fast printers like Bambu P1P or X1C. Inlay is now a seperate Openscad-File and can be modified with sample-text to showcase embossed text in sidewalls. Recreated some features from the Filament Swatch Book from 3D Printy in this OpenSCAD. Mainly the Favorite-Star that I liked so much. Additionally, I added the Temperature-Range to this Swatchcard aswell so it's an easy reference without digging up the spool. Added Descriptions to the Settings & named them properly Added Font & Style Selection for each Line so it can be customized further Added fourth Line of Text to the right of Filament-Type to add the printable temperature of the selected Filament Added Layer-Height Selector to dynamically modify the Height of See-through windows. Modified the “Hole”-Setting to be identical to 3D Printy's “Favorite Star” from his Swatch Book
