Johann Gasper Spurzheim (1776-1832) was a german Phrenologist. He studied under Franz Joseph Gall but they parted ways when Spurzheim decided to apply the concept of Phrenology to philosophy, religion and social reform. He became a close ally of the British phrenologist George Combe.
