This statue depicts Septimius Severus in heroic nudity with an athletic body. This statue is one of the finest portraits of Septimius Severus that survives from antiquity and it is the one large-scale bronze sculpture found on Cyprus so far. Septimius Severus, also known as Severus, was Roman emperor from 193 to 211.
