This bronze bust depicts Sir Paul Getty K. B. E, a great philanthropist of wide-ranging interests who adopted British citizenship. This bust commemorates the 10th anniversary of a generous gift by Sir Paul which has made possible the acquisition of paintings by Caravaggio, Daddi, Holbein and Possin, among others, and which continues to allow the Gallery to acquire major paintings for the nation.
