This tusk was 3D scanned with a Go!Scan 50 at the Mariners’ Museum on July 10, 2018. Accession number 2003.024. Courtesy of the Mariners’ Museum, Newport News, Virginia. From the catalogue description: The object is a polished walrus tusk, engraved by hand with an image of a three-masted ship-of-line, flying the British flag, “hove-to” with its anchor down, near a pier. On the pier are two groups with six people in each group, chained together in a line. To one side of each group is a person yielding a whip.
