This is a funerary slab dedicated to Loukios Murdios Heraklas. The deceased is depicted as a hero on horseback, performing libations (ritual pouring of a liquid as an offering to a god or in memory of the dead) near a serpent-wrapped tree, alluding to the underworld. From Smyrna from 1st century BC.
