Print tested. ---------------In the forest there is a cabin where a family lives — Papa, who protects and feeds the egg; Mama, whose task is to keep the offerings flowing; and their Only Son, who protects his parents to the very end. The inhabitants of a nearby village wander to the cabin in search of help. Mama operates on them with two knives, replacing parts of their bodies. The villagers receive no real help, and their old diseases eventually carry them to the grave anyway. Yet everyone still makes the journey to the cabin when they fall ill. No one knows why. When a villager arrives at the cabin, Mama’s knives are ready. Even though a bird mask completely covers Mama’s face, leaving the eyes hidden beneath straps as well, her knives cut with extreme precision. Mama can tell by sound alone when the blade is slicing the right place. The villagers consider the operation satisfying, and Mama’s herbs ensure that it will continue to be so in the future.
