About this 3D model

Standing at 5.2m tall and weighing almost 8 tonnes, Superlambanana is a well known sculpture in Liverpool, England. Intended as a cross between a banana and a lamb, it was created by Japanese artist Taro Chiezo. The original model was around 4 inches tall, whereas this full scale replica was made by local artists Andy Small, Julian Taylor, Tommy Reason, and Ray Stokes. The sculpture serves a duel purpose: being a comment on the dangers of genetic engineering, and, also paying tribute to Liverpools history, where sheep and bananas were common cargo in the city docks.
