Summary This is a cover for the pins of a 3-pin UK plug, to allow protection for travel cases, bags, etc. The pins of a UK plug can vary in size so that it will grip thicker pins, but may fall off thinner pins. In that case, a 1cm wide strip of Velcro (i.e. hook-and-loop) can be cut to size, threaded through the slot, and wrapped around the back of the plug/adapter. Attached cables may be wound around the side of the cover and held in place by using the Velcro strap to wrap around the top of the cover.
