For the bust of Frederik 6. (1768-1839), Thorvaldsen has chosen the ancient bust form with the broad section of the chest with drapes across the shoulders and insignia across the chest. The King is given his characteristic features: the thin face, large nose and projecting lower jaw are easily recognisable.
