About this 3D model

This plaster sculpture is a direct cast of the marble original of Caroline Amalie, commissioned by her husband King Christian VIII. After the approval of a preliminary sketch (Nysø34) mentioned in a letter dated 2.4.1821, Thorvaldsen continued to create the final sculpture in 1827.
