About this 3D model
Summary A simple wasp trap that can be installed on the top of an empty jar that has a 2" mouth. This was designed for a 46 or 48 ounce Motts Apple Sauce Jar but should work on many other 2". mouth jars as well. Since this is something intended to be outside you probably should not print from PLA although my test prints were in PLA. This model comes with 2 options for the upper cone. One with vertical slots which minimize bridging and another with horizontal slots. Both printed fine in PLA however I suspect the horizontal variant will struggle when printed in PETG which I have not yet tried. Wasps are most attracted to bright colors so choose your material color accordingly. Some good choices are⦠Yellow Orange Blue Lime green Print Instructions The following settings results in a nearly solid print. Layer Height: 0.2mm Walls: 4 Infill: 20% Gyroid Supports: none Material: PLA, PETG, ASA Assembly Instructions Install the cone on top of the base piece Find an allen key that is larger than the pins sticking through. Heat the end of the allen key with blow torch or lighter. Press down on a pin to melt it into place. With the tool held on the pin run over cold water to solidify. Repeat steps 3-5 for the other 2 pins.
