"The major cities on Concretium are surrounded by an inhospitable dust desert. Razor-sharp rock formations and relentless sandstorms demand everything from man and machine." With the Concretium - "rough terrain tiles" it is possible to build a desert-themed board to resemble this vast and dangerous environment. The set contains all kind of tiles with flat tiles, organic shaped hills, massive rock formations and flat concrete plateaus. This allows you to built a full table just with this set. Nevertheless, this set can also be combined with other sets in the Concretium range like the concretium "basic tiles" and "elevated tiles" to create hybrid playing fields with a mix of urban combat and desert. The organic tiles offer a total of 27 different shapes in multiple versions to build flowing landscapes. Each shape has at least 2 different versions: one just with a sandtexture and some smaller rocks and the other versions with smaller rock-formations. These tiles have a wave pattern at the edge to conceal the joint between two tiles. These shapes allow for the construction of quite high terrain formations by combining slopes. To add some great centerpieces for the table, there are large and massive rockformations included.These can be built by combining 2 or more matching tiles. The massive formations are excellent line of sight blockers even for larger miniatures like titans. Besides the organic tiles, there are also tiles for flat plateaus and tiles that can be used to connect the board to the "basic and elevated" tile-sets. To accommodate the increased height, the set includes additional new 2x2 frames. These reduce printing time and filament consumption compared to stacking standard 1x1 and 2x2 frames. content: 122 tiles in total - 9 2x2-frames and 3 1x1 frames - 12 flat rough tiles - 13 plateau tiles - 8 street connector tiles to the "basic" tileset - 69 organic hill tiles with corners, innercorners, straight, canyon) - 20 tiles for large and massive structures - pdf with topdown view of the tiles (print, cut out and arrange to help with planing you layout). Organic tiles are shown in schematic representation. All tiles are optimized for fdm-printers and print fine with a 0.4mm nozzle. For best results i recommend using 0.08 or 0.12mm layerheight. The groundtexture combined with the layerheight will result in longer printtimes, but in my opinion it is worth the time. While the texture of the plates will come out quite nice in fdm, i recommend adding a bit of fine sand and mod podge to the basecolor when priming the tiles. This enhances the texture of the print and leads to nicer results overall. All frames can be magnetized with 1mm thick round magnets with a diameter of 5mm. I recommend using mostly 2x2 frames with 4 1x1 tiles each to save magnets. The set can be overwhelming with the huge amount of options it offers, so it is the best to start with one of the larger formations as a center for the board and expand this one by one with 2x2 frames.
