About this 3D model
Johan Peter Molin arrived in Rome in late autumn of 1845. The following year he had finished the plaster model of a young shepherd. The motif was popular among international painters in Rome and undoubtedly, it is the picturesque features that captured Molin's interest in the finished marble version, especially in its accessories. In the highly idealized image of the shepherd, the artist has also been inspired by antique sculpture. Photography credit (CC BY-SA 4.0) - Nationalmuseum
