About this 3D model

Basic description Mac Pro case, in this instance I built it to hold my external time machine drives, so its tailored to fit the cheapest case on eBay, I provided a picture of the case I used, and just one spare naked drive to. Its designed to be able to fit nicely-ish on a Prusa i3 but some people may need a bigger one so just scale it up and shame the small build plate of the i3. My print settings I’m using a 0.5mm nozzle at 0.4mm layer height as to have it look presentable, and I know it’s not technically right having a layer height of more than 75% of nozzle width but it works, so give it a try and save time without a huge drop on quality. I’m still printing at 40mm/s and at a temperature of just above 210° for the filament I’m using. I don’t using cooling as the relatively lower layer height, nozzle width and print speed, keeps quality at a high meaning the uncooled print is far stronger. Using these settings, it takes around 9:30 to print the outside case, and a little less for the insert part. Exact insert hole dimensions as it is now Height: 90.825 mm Width: 49.875 mm Depth: 127.05 mm You may be wondering why the dimensions of the insert part are strange numbers, simply put I originally designed it a little bit too small to fit the drives in so rather than redo the whole thing just scaled it up a tad, a little lazy but I don’t care. I provided these as it will let you, the consumer of this model to make your own designs for inserts, a few ideas I had were flowerpot insert, treadmill mount, holder for many SD cards, secret money store, and a little set of draws for doll limbs. All these and more. So happy designing folks! Miscellaneous points If there aren’t any pictures of my print yet it was because I forgot to take them then left it in a field, so I need to print a new one. It looked good though. Eventually I’ll put more inserts like the above mentioned in the remixes I just need to get around to modelling them. It’s up for free because I get a lot from the community so it’s nice to give back when I can, and I hope you like the model and get good use out of it.
