The Fringes are a realm of mountains and hills. Even as you approach the coast the spine of the world is keen to make itself known as snow capped peeks sit within a days march of the shore. This means that farm land is coveted and many who make the fringes home must supplement their larders with hunted game. Consequently, every mustered force can count on some form of Levy or Militia Archers. They may be poorly equipped but they are no less effective as a fighting force if given a depot of arrow shafts and sturdy walls to shoot them from.
