The easiest method to insert the hook into the opening is to squeeze it on the end and push gently with screwdriver, it will bend enough to enter. To be used with the model of the ball - the decor needs to be gently removed from the plate and cleaned from brim (to not loose the collar to fit the hanger) - some not ideal cleaning left-overs will secure better the fit.
