Rapunzel is another classic in the history of fairy tales. The myth of the maiden locked in the tower has its origins in ancient Greece with the mythological figure of Danae. But it seems that the true origins of the story come from Italy from a story of 1634. Also here multiple versions and variations, some more alelgre, others decidedly less happy.
