About this 3D model
Two satyrs and maenad, followers of the Greek god of wine, lead an ecstatic procession. In Greek legend satyrs were lustful male woodland gods with equine ears and tails. Maenads were wild, frenzied women. One satyr plays double pipes and the maenad bangs drum. The other satyr, accompanied by a panther, carries Dyonisos' pine-con staff. The figures on this Roman panel were inspired by earlier Greek works.
