Update 1/7/25: – TPU Version -- YAY! Added by popular demand, I created a profile for TPU! I updated this TPU version's design so that it uses slots where you place magnets to be enclosed within the part, preventing the need to rely solely on glue to secure the magnets. I have tested this, and it seems to work a lot better. Update 10/3/25: - Important Note on Magnets (TPU Version): This TPU design is specifically made for 30 x 10 x 5 mm magnets . These are currently harder to source, so I’ve removed the direct Amazon link until I can find a reliable supplier to share again. I’ll update the listing as soon as I do. In the meantime, you may need to check multiple vendors to find this size. 20 Pack Neodymium Bar Magnets 30 x 10 x 5 mm To get this version to work properly, the magnets are first inserted, and then an enclosure cap is added, which is also printed in TPU. I do still recommend using super glue to secure the magnets within the slots so they do not move around much, as I've added some clearance to accommodate different machine tolerances. The super glue will keep them from wiggling around, as well as keep the end caps secured in place. This version should allow more flexibility and contouring to the vehicle. Hopefully, this works well for people! I've designed it so that it requires 10 magnets total. And as a bonus, the pack comes with 20 magnets, so you can easily make two (maybe one for a friend!). The print takes a lot longer, and these are just some of the settings I've used for TPU that I've worked with in the past. Feel free to edit the settings to work for your setup. I also find it beneficial to add a brim on the Connector Piece, although I have discovered that it is not entirely necessary. In terms of keeping the magnet and the connections in place, I prefer using JB Weld . However, I have recently started using 3M VHB tape as an alternative method, and I have found it to be successful so far. If you choose to use glue, ensure that the magnet is free of any oils, and it may be helpful to roughen the surface of the magnet with sandpaper. Added middle spacers to decrease the likelihood of scratches on the vehicle. Added depth (4mm total) for magnet hole. This allows for double-sided adhesive to secure magnets in place, as opposed to superglue (I recommend the 3M VHB Tape) Modified the design to have a wider slot between risers for wider skis. This will still work with smaller skis but is more reliable for all sizes.
