About this 3D model
Like its namesake, the wild brumby horse fromAustralia Terra, the Brumby is not a battlemech whosedesigned has not been tamed by a corporate owner orcontrolled by the select few. The origins of the ‘mechremain uncertain, but many suspect worlds on theLyran frontiers produced the earliest versions drawingon captured Marik technical notes descending from theLiberator project. It is most commonly seen in use byplanetary militia and defence of corporate assets. The design makes some unusual choices with criticismfocusing on the placement of its primary weapons in asingle left arm mount. This is intentionally done to cutdown on complexity, with only a single power feed tothe reactor. Likewise, its right arm features no weaponsor supporting equipment whatsoever. The right arm isinconsistent in its form based off the parts available toits producer, it often features an elongated lower limband claw to allow it to serve a dual role as a workermech moving loads and shifting equipment. The legs of the mech give it its distinctive gait andhooved feet that likely contributed to the mech’s name.Though complex due to multiple joints, in practice theweight distribution across these joints allows the ‘mechto achieve its intended higher than average speedswithout significant wear and thus reduced maintenancetime desired by those on the edge of space. The chassis is often described as boxy in nature alongwith its elongated head mounting enhancing its likenessto a horse. While the fusion engine fills the torso, somehave explored mounting the cockpit within the frame. The side torso sections are smaller and higher mountedon each side to allow mounting of missile weaponry. Each torso contains a small missile weapon system tocompensate for the lack of a larger mount. Open and Closed Missile Racks.
