About this 3D model

This is a collection of tools , 3d printed test objects and components that was printed by astronauts from NASA on the International Space Station (ISS). Some of the objects was made on earth and then sent to the ISS where it was printed. The time listed below is in minutes and calculated for the 3d-printer onboard the ISS. Bambu Labs printers are a bit faster. The printer on the ISS looks very impressive: Here is a video from NASA talking about the parts listed below and you also get some information about the printer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BAy2fiBElU Maker & License : Made In Space, Inc. & NASA. Public Domain. Screenshots, pictures of the plates and 3mf files are made by me, use them as you wish (Public Domain). Number Part name Image Description Time 001 Wrench Tool. 239 002 Functional Checkout & Calibration Coupon Used to test calibration of relationship between extruder and print plate. 18 003 Slide Plate of 3D Printer Extruder Head Casing This is a replacement part for the 3D printer itself. It is a side plate of the extruder casing. 74 004 Layer Quality Test Specimen Used to assess the layer quality and tolerances for comparison to ground control samples. 45 005 45°/-45° Material Deposition Pull Coupon Used to assess mechanical characteristics for comparison to ground control samples 70 006 Compression Test Specimen Used to assess compressive strength for comparison to ground control samples. 46 007 45°/-45° Flexural Test Specimen Used to assess stiffness properties for comparison to ground control samples. 48 008 Performance Negative Range Test Specimen Used to test geometric accuracy and tolerances for comparison to ground control samples. 88 009 Torque Tool Coupon Used to test structural strength for comparison to ground controls. 165 010 Crowfoot Coupon Used to test structural strength for comparison to ground controls. 95 011 Performance Positive Range Test Specimen Used to test geometric accuracy and tolerances for comparison to ground control samples. 45 012 Sample Container Example of a two‐piece water-tight sample container providing 1 level of containment. 199 013 Structural Clip Component This is a structural connector/spacer that can be utilized to assemble avionics/electronics cards on orbit. 27 014 Microgravity Structure Test Specimen This is a test of a part that would be difficult, if not impossible, to successfully 3D print due to gravitational effects (sag, overhang, etc.). Used to determine if benefits exist of printing in microg. Ie the ability to print large overhangs without support. 36 Bonus Wire Tie No information available about this object. N/A ALL ALL OBJECTS Every object on one print plate. N/A
